Activities:

Vegetable Division The activities of vegetable division is the improvement of vegetable crops through planning and execution of basic, applied and adaptive research which will in turn help in the alleviation of malnutrition, employment generation and will contribute to the national economy. The activities are:

• Development of improved vegetable varieties (OP and F1) for high yield and nutritional quality.

• Abiotic stress tolerant variety development (draught, salt, heat etc.)

• Development of protective cultivation for off season and year round quality production

• Organic and safe vegetable production technology

• Development of resistant varieties against major pest and diseases

• Development of appropriate nutrient management package

• Standardization of vegetable propagation methods

• Quality vegetable production through hydroponics and rooftop vegetable

• Development of quality seed production package

• Transfer of technologies to the GO/NGO workers and end users.
