Intensive research is being carried out by Entomology Division, BARI regarding production of safe food by using environment friendly bio-pesticides. 

• IPM of Vegetables, fruits, spices crops

• Artificial rearing of egg and larval parasitoids and their field release techniques
• Identification of new invasive insect pests
• Management of stored grain insect pests

Entomology division, BARI has an international standard accredited “Pesticide Analytical Laboratory (ISO 17025)”. Through this lab the division is regularly monitoring and analyzing pesticide residues in marketed vegetables, fruits, dry fishes etc. and also in different exportable items and issuing residue certificates. Moreover, pesticide analytical method development, determining pre harvest interval (PHI), developing decontamination techniques, purity testing of different marketed brands of pesticides etc. are also the important areas of research accomplished from this lab
